Metropolitan Park |
This park is located in the "Corregimiento de Ancon" approximately 15 min from the city of Panama. Comprised of a total of 265 hectares and one of the few protected parks within metropolitan areas of Latin America. A special part of the park include an Orquid garden, where a wide variety of these plants can be admired. Animals living in the metropolitan park include the "titi" monkey, the white tailed deer, the "muleto" rabbit, the "solo" cat, boas, and a variety of exotic birds. The Metropolitan Park is not technically considered a national park, since the requirement for that classification is to boast more than 1,000 hectares.
