Lake Bayano
First we will have breakfast and then drive to Madugandi on the shore of Lake Bayano. From the lake we will take the boat to the entrance of the caves. This is where the adventure begins! You'll travel deep into the Earth and observe the awesome limestone formations and the underground river. After spelunking (cave exploring) for a few hours we will stop for lunch. We can have lunch by a lagoon in a open area surrounded by a pristine forest. Everyone can go for a swim.
Chagres National Park
After we enjoy a good breakfast we will be off to Chagres National Park. You can find a number of caves off the shore of Lake Alajuela. When we arrive at the caves you'll begin an intense spelunking adventure. You'll have your head lamp on, crawling through these tiny passages that lead to big open areas. Your heart will start to pound as you realize that you are deep in the earth. When you arrive at the big open rooms you'll see some excellent formations that few people have dared to see. This is quite a workout so we will take a lunch break before exploring a few more caves. After about another 4 hours we hike back. It is highly recommended to bring a camera!
What You Should Bring With You
Dress in sportswear and hiking boots. Bring a change of clothes and some sun block. You might want to bring a few snacks with you and your camera, too.
